Does anyone know if a complete passenger list exists for this ship's 1864
voyage between Liverpool and Melbourne? I am searching for details of David
Holden from Co. Carlow, Ireland. His wife Catherine (nee Doyle) and their
infant son Edward were on board. Can anyone help?

Hello "wollar1914" [no name]

Absolutely nothing wrong with the "arrival" - this is a passenger list of
all who boarded the ship departing England. Changes to this list are then
usually reflected on the actual list or in the summary at the end of the
list.

Edward isn't shown as being 1 year old but shown as "I" meaning infant.

The OP didn't make it clear but I'm presuming that David HOLDEN came
independently and his "wife" Catherine DOYLE waited until their son was born
before making the voyage. Probably why Catherine is shown as DOYLE and not
HOLDEN - either they hadn't married at that stage or she was "booked" to
travel before they were married and hence her name was still DOYLE.

Thanks for that. I just wondered why they had him as arriving - when it
showed that he had died on the voyage.

I does seem that she may have been Doyle but was certainly married on the
voyage.

Births also indicate that David did arrive some time arund Catherine because
first birth in Vic. was 1865 with Edward being reg as died at sea and then
there was a Mary aged 6 who died in 1884 with David and Catherine as
parents but no birth for her.

This Mary appears to be reg as having James as father and Kate Doyle as
mother in 1877 born and died at Charlton
