Hello all

I tried putting this on Photobucket but could not enlarge it enough to be
clearly seen.

The name of the Informant on the first entry (the Aunt) has me stumped. The
letters of names on the page are clearly formed except this one (unless I'm
having a serious senior moment)

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-99CH-WL2?i=24&cc=2125029

Any help appreciated.

Regards

Hi Neil

Thanks for replying.

That was my first thought too but looking at the shape of the letters in the
other spelling of "Hall" the H and L's are quite different.

Another thought. I think that signature has been written by another hand.

That seems to have been the case in each entry - and it does say
signature in the heading.

I would go for Hall, with initial of N or M.

Hi Cecilia

I went through the marriages for "Mary" Hall and found a few, one of which
(1856) had a signature that could belong to the same person. The man she
married was a Shoemaker. Just a coincidence possibly but her brother was
also a Shoemaker. I was hoping to make a connection between brother and
sister to glean a little more information about their beginnings but with so
little information in Tasmanian records I keep hitting a brick wall.
There is nothing solid about the above, it is just a possibility.

I know all about Mary Brady she is my 2xgt grandmother and a convict but
have never been able to trace her spouse.

Hi Kate

Long-time lurker here, but missed this when it was posted.

The Aunt is almost definitely " M Hall " - I have gazed on many 10s of
thousands of these wierd-looking writings, and I've learnt to go with
my initial reaction, as above. True, the H is strange, but no other
typical letter fits, and the M is beautifully clear.

Hope this helps,

Geoff
