Brothers Fred and Philip RANDALL emigrated to VIC, Australia, pre WW1 with
wives and children. The wives were sisters

Fred and wife Sarah Emily nee FLINDERS arrived first in 1912 with daughter
Dorothy Hilda RANDALL

Fred was born 1874 in Nottingham, married there 2 May 1896.

Sarah Emily was born at Loughborough Leics 1874 and died Melbourne 28 Aug
1940.

Daughter Dorothy was born Nottingham 1898, married George Moncrieff STIRLING
in VIC and died 1970 at Park, VIC

Philip and wife Jane nee FLINDERS arrived 1913 with son Cyril Leslie RANDALL

Philip was born about 1880 in Nottingham, married there 1 Dec 1906.

Jane was born at Loughborough Leics 28 May 1881 and died Melbourne 14 Jun
1975 at Elsternwick, VIC

Son Cyril Leslie was born Nottingham 1909, married Thelma Eunice HAMILTON
about 1931 and died 2 Sep 1975 Melbourne, buried Springvale.

(Thelma was born 1909 and died 27 Oct 2007)

My questions are:

Does anyone else have connections to these families

When/where did Fred and Philip die

Were any further children born to Fred and Philip in Australia

Were there any grandchildren born Australia.

Thank you.

Keith,
I don't have any connection.
The birth CD includes 1920.
It would help to do a look up if I had the parents names.
If I can help let me know.

Hi Keith

No connection to your family.

I expect you know Sarah Emily RANDALL is buried at Fawkner and there is also
a Frederick RANDALL buried in the same area. If you email the cemetery they
can tell you if Sarah/Fred are buried together and if so give you his d of d
http://www.gmct.com.au/

I can't find Jane RANDALL but as she died at Elsternwick it's reasonable to
suppose she might be buried at Brighton. Not all Cemetery online databases
are up to date, so, as you have her date of death you could email and ask if
she is buried there and if Phil is with her.
http://brightoncemetery.com.au/
If she is not there you will need to purchase her death certificate which
will show her place of burial, hopefully with Phil.

There is also a Phil RANDALL died Brighton (next door to (Elsternwick) in
1943, age on index is 26. If you transpose the numbers that would show the
person being born in 1881.
Not such a leap of faith as mistakes are made across the board. If all else
fails you might want to take a punt and purchase that death certificate.
Not to be confused with Philip Randall JOHNSON who is buried at Brighton and
also died 1943

My birth records only go to 1920 and there is just the following.

Surname: RANDALL
Given Names: Joyce Bernice
Event: B
Sex:
Spouse Surname/Father: Phil
Spouse Gvn Names/Mother: Jane FLINDERS
Age:
Age Code:
Birth Place: NORTHCOTE
Death Place:
Year: 1918
Reg. Number: 5729

Surprisingly I could not find find this birth on Vic BDM's. Joyce married
Leslie Ray DAVIS in 1939.

You can search Vic BDM's, FREE and purchase online.
http://www.bdm.vic.gov.au/home/family+history/search+your+family+history/

I tried random births for cut off dates (Privacy Laws) and could not get
past 1924.
Grandchildren might only surface in Newspapers re marriage, death notices of
their parents.

Kate, the reason you couldn't find the birth is that the cut-off
date is 100 years ago. You must have an earlier set, rather
like NSW.

Thanks for the input.

This time last week all I knew was that Jane (Flinders) RANDALL died in VIC,
Australia.
Now I know that in 1913 her husband Philip and son Cyril went with her, and
a further child, Joyce Bernice who later married Leslie Ray DAVIS was born
VIC.

Not only the above but Jane's sister Sarah Emily and her husband Fred
RANDALL, brother of the above Philip, emigrated with their daughter Dorothy
the year prior.

The above re-constructed outline for the benefit of those related who have
yet to get addicted to this hobby and find this message.

It has been so long since I last looked for people in VIC that I wasn't
aware of
http://www.bdm.vic.gov.au/home/family+history/search+your+family+history/

Last time I looked one had to pay for access to the indexes.
