Hi David

Great to hear from you

I am a researcher for the Fromelles Association looking for a Y line match
(donor) for Herbert.

The female line MT DNA has a donor and although nothing has happened it
doesn't mean it is a failure, finding the Y line is the key, because either
may not be strong but together they can work. Yes, I read about the machine
gunning too....

Either way, there will be a result I suppose - if both sides say no, not in
the mass grave.

I enclose my research on the male line to date. Males are very lacking on
this line. I wonder if the family is aware of any male cousins in Australia
as there was another Westmoreland line in SA

The ancestor William married to Jane is ony spec as there is a William
married to Elizabeth.

Most grateful for any comments, corrections etc.

cheers

I have replied privately to Marg.
I have not found any living male descendants of Herbert John
Westmoreland's (HJW) ancestors. Probably plenty on female line.

HJW's father, John Westmoreland was an only child, and his father, John
Westmoreland (senior) was also an only child (I think), both born
Lincolnshire. Only possible relations require going back to the 1700's.
