Hi,

I have a query about Cemetery searches on line. I have googled both the
Melbourne Cemetery and Brighton Cemetery and it comes to Southern
Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust but when it comes to searching All Cemeteries
that seems to only give you Bunurong, Springvale and St Kilda.

Am I doing something wrong or is Melbourne & Brighton coming but not on line
yet?

Thank you for any guidance
Pat

Hi Lance,

The brighton one doesn't come up for me (comes up server not found) and the
Melbourne one is what I was getting - the search is only for 3 cemeteries
even though they seem to be the central site for 8 cemeteries.

So it leaves me with the feeling that the other 5 are not indexed for
on-line as yet. Well maybe one day :-)

Thank you very much
Pat

Hi Pat

There is an email address for the Melbourne General Cemetery on the SMCT
website and they are very good at responding. I have emailed MGC quite a
lot.

This is NOT the official Brighton website, it is run by someone who
charges money for information and photos and the information isnt up
to date. He doesnt have all the information from the burial registers
and we know a lot of info he has isnt right. Thats why we are fixing
up the index before it goes online.

Im a researcher at Brighton and we are still, after 6 years, getting
the right information onto the computer. I have already helped Pat
with info from Brighton. If anybody needs help from Brighton its best
to ring the office, it wont cost you anything and you'll get the right
information. Brighton will not be online for awhile, when it is it
will be on the Springvale deceased search site.
