Hi all,
I am a member of the Victorian Maritime Centre in Crib Point
and on 28th November we have the Official Unveiling Of The 5
Lieutenant-Commander G. GOSSE, G.C., RANVR
Lieutenant-Commander L.V. GOLDSWORTHY, G.C., D.S.C., G.M.,
RANVR
Lieutenant-Commander J.S. MOULD, G.C., G.M., RANVR
Lieutenant H.R. SYME, G.C., G.M. And Bar, RANVR
Chief Petty Officer Coxswain J. ROGERS, G.C., D.S.M., RAN
We have been unsuccessful in contacting any family members to
invite them and wonder if this group might be able to help us
in finding one.
Hi Di

The National Archives has a great deal of info. I just did a
quick search on your first name via

http://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/NameSearch/Interface/NameSearchResultForm.aspx?MR=20

You just select records search >name and type of record I found
George GOSSE b 1912 Harvey WA

His 8 page file is digitised . That should give clue as to
family members

Di, you may already know this. There is a list of Australian George Cross
winners on Wikipedia, with links to those having a page of their own. I
have just brought up George Gosse's page, which mentions that he is in
the ADB.

The G.C. was an Imperial award, and Gosse's citation was published in the
London Times. That may explain the absence of Aussie records.

HTH,

Doug.
